U. S. 150 Northwest of Methodist College to Close June 10

Beginning Monday, June 10, individuals traveling to Methodist College on U.S. 150 from the northwest (Kickapoo) should allow themselves plenty of time or make alternate travel arrangements.

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the following road construction:

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that U.S. 150 between Heinz Lane and Blackbridge Road will close to all traffic Monday, June 10.

The closure is necessary for replacement of a culvert. Access to Heinz Lane and Blackbridge Road will remain at all times during the project, which is expected to last about two weeks. A detour utilizing Illinois 6 and Interstate 74 will be posted. 

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
