Our modern health and human service systems provide care to millions of people under extraordinarily complicated circumstances -- patients have complex issues, costs to provide care rise while budgets shrink, potential legal ramifications are always looming, and competition between providers contribute to stressful settings to care for those in need. Yet, at the core of caregiving remains the interaction between the patient and the caregiver. The Methodist College Wellness Forum focuses on that relationship and how the caregiver can best infuse their caregiving with compassion. This one-day conference will provide professional development opportunities for nurses, social workers, counselors and other healthcare providers.
