Annette Moore, MSN RN CMSRN, NASM-CPT joined the Methodist
College of Nursing in the spring of 2012. She began her professional nursing
career in 1995 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint
Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois.
For the past 15 years she has served in the roles of nurse
generalist, community volunteer, preceptor and educator in the acute care,
ambulatory, and wellness settings. Instructor Moore’s clinical areas of focus include
general medical, general surgical, pediatrics, medical intensive care unit
stepdown, home health, registry, mobile admissions and adult physical
rehabilitation. In addition to her practice as a bedside nurse in these areas, Instructor
Moore has also taken the roles of intake coordinator and referral advisement for
home health care.
Within the acute care setting, she has served as a unit
co-chairperson and chairperson on the Professional Nursing Congress,
collaborated with advanced practice nurses on projects for Nursing Grand
Rounds, participated on the Research Committee, and two Six Sigma projects as
well as the Clinical Ladder Programs.
In 2008, Instructor Moore earned her Masters
of Science in Nursing with a clinician focus from Saint Francis Medical Center
College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois; in 2009 she began a teaching career as
adjunct faculty in the Health Careers nursing department at Illinois Central College
in East Peoria, Illinois and served as full-time faculty at the Kramer School
of Nursing at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Instructor
Moore has earned and carries national certification in medical surgical nursing
from the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board since 2005, is also a
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer. Instructor
Moore has also been approved to work on the National Council of State Boards of
Nursing (NCSBN) NCLEX examination item development panel and as a Sigma Theta
Tau International member, she is a nurse expert contributor for Sharecare.com.
