Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in Peoria, Illinois

Methodist College now offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program designed for students who have already completed a Licensed Practical Nurse program and wish to become a registered nurse. Our hybrid program is designed to allow students to remain employed while completing their degree. Similar to our BSN - Second Degree program, our LPN to BSN program offers online classes during the week (nursing courses only), and in-person nursing classes or clinical experiences over the weekend.

Upon successful completion of the Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, graduates will then be qualified to sit for the national licensing exam, NCLEX-RN. Our first-time pass rate continues to surpass state and national averages.

How to Get Started in the LPN to BSN Program

Why Choose the LPN to BSN Program at Methodist College?

The LPN to BSN program at Methodist College provides students with an opportunity to take the next step in their nursing career, while utilizing the education they've already earned.

Fewer Credits Required -

By accepting transfer credits from a previous LPN program, we're saving our students time and money. The time to complete the program will depend on whether the student attends part-time or full-time. Our program does not require incoming students to possess a bachelor's degree or other prerequisites. Students will only need to show proof of completing an LPN Program and submitting their LPN license.

Increased Earning Potential -

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a median wage of 77k per year for registered nurses compared to a 48k median wage for License Practical Nurses.

Hybrid Program Schedule -

Students enrolled in the LPN to BSN program enjoy a hybrid program schedule. Students must be able to attend weekend in-person classes on campus, or clinical experiences in the Peoria, Illinois area. Students may also experience blended classes and online classes. Online classes are offered as asynchronized or synchronized meetings on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Weekends include Saturday mornings through Sunday late afternoons.
