Methodist College to Host Cultural Fair

The Methodist College Diversity Committee is hosting a Cultural Fair on Thursday, April 6 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. This event will be held at the college campus at 7600 N. Academic Drive and is free and open to the public. This will be a kid-friendly event.

The Cultural Fair is an opportunity to highlight the diverse cultures that exist in the Methodist College and Peoria communities through food, fun, entertainment, and information.

“We want to educate Methodist College constituents and the public about the cultural diversity in our community, and enhance appreciation for different cultures, and encourage involvement in various cultural organizations,” said Alissa Selburg, director of admissions and advisement at Methodist College and a member of the college’s diversity committee.

The event will celebrate the diverse cultures of Peoria through food and entertainment. Informational tables hosted by: LGBTQ community, Itoo Society/Lebanese community, German American Society, South Side Mission, the Jewish Federation, members of the Peoria Romanian community, Lebanese store, Universal Unitarian Church, Hindu Temple of Central Illinois, and members of the Peoria Indian Community. 

Entertainment will be provided by the South Side Mission Children's Violin Group, the Peoria International Choir, and will feature additional presentations of Lebanese dance, German horn performance, and Romanian dance.
