Special notice for Methodist College students and other students filing FAFSAs

Midnight on Thursday June 5, 2025 is the deadline for students to apply for 2025-26 Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants by submitting an initial 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA^®), or, for qualifying students, an Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid.

MAP grants, which do not need to be repaid, are available to eligible Illinois residents who attend approved Illinois colleges and demonstrate financial need, based on the information provided on the FAFSA®. The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible students and available funding may run out quickly.

The FAFSA determines eligibility for financial aid other than MAP for which some students may be eligible, such as Pell grants and institutional aid. If more MAP funding becomes available later, the only way you can be considered for MAP is to have filed a FAFSA or an Alternative Application.
