May 21, 2026
Methodist College is proud to join regional partners in launching the Greater Peoria Healthcare Education Consortium (GPHEC), an initiative designed to strengthen the healthcare workforce across central Illinois.
This collaborative effort directly supports the college’s longstanding mission to develop local clinical expertise and expand clear, accessible pathways into healthcare careers.
“Methodist College is honored to contribute its expertise, leadership and resources to this effort,” Kayla Banks, PhD, Chancellor of Methodist College, said. “We believe collaboration is key to solving workforce challenges, and this is just the beginning. Together, we are building a sustainable, long-term solution to meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals.”
The consortium is focused on creating meaningful, student-centered opportunities that spark interest, build skills, and guide learners into the workforce - an approach that closely aligns with Methodist College’s commitment to student success.
As an institution serving a majority of non-traditional students, Methodist College recognizes the importance of expanding access to healthcare education. The work of GPHEC across multiple counties reinforces the college’s mission to ensure individuals of all backgrounds have the opportunity to explore and pursue careers in healthcare.
“The Greater Peoria Healthcare Education Consortium is a collaborative effort to expand exposure to healthcare careers and increase access to the industry for all,” said Chris Setti, CEO of the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, which leads the consortium as part of its Workforce Solutions initiative.
Methodist College is proud to be part of this regional partnership and its effort to create clear educational pathways and strengthen the pipeline of healthcare professionals across Greater Peoria and beyond.
