About Methodist College
For more than 100 years, Methodist College has provided high quality education for healthcare professionals. What started as a nurse training program in 1900, established by the deaconesses of the Methodist Episcopal church, has grown to a fully accredited four-year private college, offering baccalaureate and master's opportunities in nursing and a social work bachelor.
Methodist College is a four-year, private, not-for-profit college affiliated with Carle Health. This relationship affords our students clinical opportunities throughout the Peoria region and at the Carle Health hospitals and clinics across Central Illinois. The college is not affiliated with the United Methodist Church or any religious organization.

Our curriculum combines quality academic programs, with real-world clinical and practicum experience to provide students with a comprehensive education. We provide a strong foundation in arts and sciences and general education focused on health sciences, which supports the students' learning in their chosen program.

Methodist College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education.

Since it's humble beginnings, Methodist College has grown to offer its students a holistic collegiate experience. A robust student life program provides students opportunities to get involved with student leadership, volunteer in the community, participate in travel courses that allow them to apply their knowledge in a variety of cultural and hands-on learning opportunities, and build community with their classmates through social events.

Our students are supported in their education through the efforts of dedicated faculty and staff. From the first time they step on campus for orientation until they walk across the stage at their graduation, our students can avail themselves of academic and financial assistance, advising, tutoring, counseling, access to faculty, technology, and library resources to supplement and support them through their journey at Methodist College.

The Methodist College Apartments on campus provide opportunities for students to create living and learning communities, while providing convenience for students who seek a college and life balance.
