The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has fully reaccredited the Methodist College Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program for eight more years, continuing its long-standing legacy of fostering exemplary social work education to support the community.
This achievement is the highest level of recognition granted by the accrediting body for social work education in the United States. It affirms that the Methodist College BSW program is in full compliance with all Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) and reflects the program’s commitment to preparing knowledgeable, ethical and compassionate social work professionals who are equipped to respond to diverse human needs in their communities.
“This recognition reflects the strength of our curriculum, the dedication of our faculty and the remarkable commitment of our students to the social work profession,” Dr. Corey Campbell, LCSW, Methodist College program director said. “It is a testament to our mission to prepare students as change agents and support the growing need for care across the region.”
The accreditation process includes an extensive self-study, site visit, and program review by the Commission on Accreditation (COA). Methodist College’s BSW program received the maximum eight-year accreditation period with no compliance findings or progress reports required—a reflection of the program’s excellence in teaching, field education, assessment, diversity and administrative governance.
Methodist College’s BSW program, located in Peoria, Illinois, prepares generalist social work practitioners to serve individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. The program emphasizes evidence-informed practice, social and economic justice, and professional integrity. As an affiliate of Carle Health, the institution aligns closely with the patient-centered focus and values.
