Methodist College Honored with Community Health Award

The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria has selected Methodist College as the 2019 recipient of the Community Health Award. The award was presented during UICOMP's 11th Annual Celebration of Excellence.
UICOMP's Community Health Award recognizes outstanding commitment to improving community health in Central Illinois. Separate awards are given annually to recognize an individual and an organization.
In nominating Methodist College, the Community Health Award Committee stated, "What started as the School of Nursing with Methodist Hospital in 1900 has evolved into an institute of higher education offering educational programs ranging from nursing to health science and social work. its transformation in education offerings mirrors both the workforce and training needs of our healthcare community."
Andrea Parker, executive director of the Hult Center for Health Living and a member of the Community Health Award Committee, presented the award to Dr. James Dire, Methodist College chancellor.
