Each year the Methodist College community gathers in April to celebrate the accomplishments of students and thank those who support scholarships. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, college officials cancelled the annual scholarship breakfast originally scheduled for April 24, 2020. It is regretful that we will not be able to honor our scholarship recipients in person and acknowledge the many wonderful donors who make these scholarships possible.
The event may be cancelled this year but we still celebrate our students and donors. Each student selected to receive a scholarship during the 2019-2020 academic year has achieved success in the classroom and community. These students strive to become leaders in careers in healthcare or human services.
Methodist College Chancellor, Dr. James Dire shares praise for the students, “Congratulations on your academic achievements that have made you eligible for these scholarships. Hard work always leads to great accomplishments and success. You are living examples of that. We are proud to have you as students at Methodist College. We will be even more proud to have you as alumni serving the people of Central Illinois and beyond in your chosen professions.”
Scholarships wouldn’t be possible without support from our generous donors. “Thank you for the heart you have invested in the education of future healthcare and human services professionals that Methodist College prepares for our regional workforce. Without your generosity, many of these students would have difficulty completing their career dreams,” said Dr. Dire.
Thank you to our donors for their continued support of our students. Sponsorships of the 2020 Scholarship Awards Breakfast, which raises funds for scholarships, include CEFCU; Cullinan Properties, Ltd.; River City Construction; Kavanagh, Scully, Sudow, White, and Frederick, P.C.; University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria; Peoria Public Schools; and Greater Peoria EDC. Through donor support, Methodist College is educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. Scholarship donors help students achieve their dream and complete a degree.
