Methodist College Voices for Social Justice Events
September 11, 2020
On September 8 and 9, the Methodist College Diversity Committee presented Voices for Social Justice, an opportunity for the college community to come together in a time of silent observance and words of reflection.
Event speakers acknowledged the college's values of Human Dignity, Integrity, Inquiry and Social Justice, with special attention given to Human Dignity and Social Justice.
During the time of the three minute silent observance, participants were invited to kneel if they were willing and able, or sit to reflect on recent national events.
Words of reflection were offered by Ms. Tricia Fox, member of the Methodist College Diversity Committee and Director of the Center for Student Success, Dean of Students Andre Allen, Chancellor James Dire, and Pastor Mark McConnell of New Cornerstone Baptist Church in Peoria.
