Accuplacer Testing Information – Methodist College
What is the Accuplacer?
The Accuplacer exam is used to support admission decisions and determine appropriate course placement. Each exam typically takes 1 to 1.5 hours to complete.
Who Needs to Take It?
Placement into 100-level courses is based on standardized test scores or prior coursework. Students who do not meet placement criteria will be enrolled in developmental courses.
• Biology/Math: Students who do not meet criteria will be placed in developmental courses.
• English: Students will be placed in ENG101 with one or both of the following labs:
- - ENG100A: Reading and Writing Lab
- - ENG100B: Writing Conventions Lab
A writing sample will determine lab placement.

In-Person Testing

- Retakes/Rescheduling fee for no show appointments: $10.00
2. Check Your Email
You’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to study guides.
3. What to Bring
- A computer
- A valid photo ID
- A calculator (provided within the test)
Results are typically available the same day or the next.
Remote Testing
· Email your full name, student ID#, DOB, email address, and name of exam to the Testing Center (testing@methodistcol.edu).
· The Testing Center will create a voucher for your exam(s).
· You will receive an email from Accuplacer with instructions on how to schedule a remote proctoring appointment.
· Fee: $28
· Late Scheduling: Additional fees applied if exams are scheduled for less than 72 hours in advance.
