DAISY AWARDS | Methodist College

Nominate a Student or Faculty Member for the DAISY Award

Every year Methodist College seeks nominations to award the DAISY Award© for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty and the DAISY Award© for Extraordinary Nursing Students.

These awards are part of a partnership between the DAISY Foundation and Methodist College to recognize outstanding faculty and nursing students. In setting up the award program, the DAISY Foundation wanted to ensure that nurses know how deserving they are of our society's profound respect for the education, training, brainpower, and skill they put into their work, and especially for the caring with which they deliver their care.

About The DAISY Foundation

Created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died after following an 8 week hospitalization, the DAISY Foundation celebrates the extraordinary compassion and skill nurses show patients and their families each day. More than 136,000 nurses, nursing faculty and students, and nurse-led teams have been recognized with the DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nursing. In February 2020, DAISY's co-founders, Mark and Bonnie Barnes, released Shining the Light on All the Right: Celebrating the Art of Nursing Around the World, which tells the story of the foundation's inception and growth into a worldwide movement.
