Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Accelerated Prelicensure


Students who have completed all of their general education requirements and have a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher may be interested in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Prelicensure Accelerated Program. Students enrolled in the Accelerated Pre-Licensure BSN will complete the program in four semesters, including summers, with full-time enrollment status.
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated Prelicensure degree, graduates will then be qualified to sit for the national licensing exam, NCLEX-RN. Our first-time pass rate continues to surpass state and national averages.
New Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated Prelicensure Curriculum
In Spring 2022, Methodist College launched a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated Prelicensure curriculum that is streamlined and reflects alignment with changes in nursing education. The new curriculum reduces the total required number of credit hours for the program from 122 to 120.
Interested students are encouraged to apply early and submit their high school and any college transcripts as soon as possible to not only expedite the application process, but assist the advising team to best guide students through the course registration process.
General Application Requirements:
- Minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Submission of a complete application for admission and payment of the application fee
- Submission of official transcripts to from each college and university attended. Email to MC_OfficeofRecordsRegistrar@carle.com.
- Complete of all prerequisite general education level courses (see below).
The program follows a rigorous schedule and as such, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 each semester of the program. If a student's cumulative GPA falls below 3.0 the student will have one semester to achieve the 3.0 requirement. If unable to achieve a 3.0 GPA, the student will have the opportunity to submit a change of major application and continue the BSN program in the standard Pre-Licensure program.

- 2.5 cumulative college GPA
- 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) high school GPA**
- Composite ACT score of 19 or an SAT score of 980**
To be admitted to the program, applicants must have the following prerequisites completed, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
Anatomy & Physiology I (w/lab) - 4 credit hrs

Microbiology (w/lab) - 4 credit hrs
Composition I - 3 credit hrs
Composition II - 3 credit hrs
Introduction to Psychology - 3 credit hrs
Introduction to Sociology - 3 credit hrs
Introduction to Philosophy- 3 credit hrs
Math Concepts or Algebra or higher - 3 credit hrs
Statistics - 3 credit hrs
Social Science Elective - 3 credit hrs
