Methodist College currently offers several options for students to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing.
The Methodist College Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program allows students the opportunity to select specific courses to meet their educational and professional goals. The program provides twenty (20) credits of foundational course work to meet the core requirements of a master's degree in nursing as specified by The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011). Each student will complete these foundational courses and then elect an additional fifteen (15) credits to complete either an MSN - Generalist degree, or MSN - Nurse Educator degree.

Master of Science in Nursing Program Options at Methodist College
To complete the existing Master of Science in Nursing- Nurse Educator degree the student completes 20 credits of foundational courses to meet the core requirements of a master's degree in nursing as specified by The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011), and an additional 15 credits of nurse educator courses to complete the 35 credit master's degree.
To complete a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - Generalist degree the student completes 20 credits of foundational courses to meet the core requirements of a master's degree in nursing as specified by The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011), and selects an additional 15 credits of nurse educator courses to complete the 35 credit master's degree.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - Prelicensure degree is for individuals with a bachelor's degree in another subject, who want to become registered nurses and earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree for career opportunities or to pursue doctoral studies. Students in the MSN-Prelicensure will take the 20 credits of foundation course work and the required curriculum to be prepared to sit for the licensure exam to become a registered nurse.
