RN-BSN FAQs
Following are some frequently asked questions about the RN-BSN program. If you do not find an answer to your question, please call 309-672-5513.
Are all classes online?
Yes, all of the required courses are online and are accessed through the college learning management system.
Students must also complete 75 in-person clinical hours along with a 25‑hour evidence‑based practice project. Clinical hours can be completed in the student’s own community, and Methodist College faculty will actively support and guide students in arranging appropriate clinical placements in their geographic area.
What is the GPA requirement for admission to the RN-BSN program?
You must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA on transfer college courses.
How many general education credits may I transfer?
Students can transfer in up to 90 credit hours from an accredited college or university. This includes credit hours earned in an Associate Degree/Diploma RN program.
Do I get any credits for my Associate Degree/Diploma with RN credential?
Yes, you will receive 30 credits for your Associate Degree/Diploma with RN credential.
How long do I have to complete the program?
The program can be completed in 3 semesters, but you have 5 years to complete the program.
What if I am a new graduate or have not recently worked as an RN?
Please meet with the recruiter if you are in doubt about your ability to apply. Experience will assist the student in organizing his or her clinical experiences, and faculty will assist the student where necessary.
What are the deadlines for admission?
You are encouraged to complete your enrollment as soon as possible, but applications are continually accepted on a rolling basis.
