An Inclusive Arts and Sciences Foundation
The LENSES (Learning Experiences Nurturing Student Enlightenment and Success) program at Methodist College expands a student's single focus on their major to a spectrum of interdisciplinary experiences that enrich student learning and reinforce how different areas of study are connected.
The Liberal Arts & Sciences courses in the LENSES program teach foundational knowledge and skills that students can carry forward to their professional careers:
- Critical thinking
- Cultural Humility
- Problem solving
Courses in the LENSES program strengthen the development of students who are better prepared, well-rounded, and poised for success in life. Faculty teaching these robust Liberal Arts & Sciences courses use a variety of methods that may include experiential learning, travel, and engaging service learning opportunities.
"Our goal at Methodist College is for our students to become the best healthcare and human services professionals in their communities. By promoting the Methodist College values of Human Dignity, Inquiry, Integrity, and Social Justice, the LENSES program seeks to accomplish this by helping students see interdisciplinary connections, fostering awareness of diverse perspectives, and encouraging advocacy for equity and inclusion."
--Dr. Eileen Setti, Dean of Arts & Sciences
