Academic Minors

A minor is a program of study, with less depth than a major. It may be completed to complement, or as an addition to a major. A minor has a minimum of 15 credit hours (minimum of three (3) lower division, minimum of nine (9) upper division credit hours, and remaining three (3) from either lower or upper division).

Methodist College students electing a minor can meet with an advisor from participating faculty to help guide them in choosing courses to fulfill the requirements of the minor. A minor must be an elective choice - a student cannot be required to complete one as part of the requirements for a major.

A maximum of six transfer credits can be applied toward an academic minor.

Students can obtain a minor in the following concentrations:

  • Arts & Humanities
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Studies
  • Health Sciences
  • Mathematics and Science
  • Philosophy
  • Psychology
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences

A complete description of the minors and curriculum are available in the Academic Catalog
